Mrs. Galen S. Irwin, 38, died at her home here Wednesay moring after an illness of three months. Mrs. Irwin was born at Crawfordsville September 18, 1903, the daughter of Elmer and Kate Steele Hills. She was married June 16, 1928 to Galen S. Irwin, who survives. Mrs. Irwin was president of the Philomath Club of Roachdale and was a member of the Presbyterian church and Roachdale Chapter No. 247, O.E. S. She was a graduate of DePauw University. Besides the husband, other survivors are two daughters; Nancy and Jane Irwin, four aunts and a half-sister. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon, January 30. Burial will be made in Roachdale cemetery. Mrs. Irwin taught in the public schools at Darlington, Crawfordsville and Ladoga --- thanks so very much to Marilyn walker for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection
